Teen New Year Resolutions are made with great hope and expectation. A new year brings a fresh start and time to reflect on the past year. What were the things you wanted to accomplish but didn’t. Observe the things that worked and didn’t work this past year. What did you lose your focus on and what new direction do you want to take this year.
Almost everyone makes New Year Resolutions. Do you want to know what some of the celebrities said? The Jonas Brothers had an awesome year in 2008 and they intend on keeping it going just as they have been. Selena Gomez (from Disney’s Wizard of Waverly Place) wants to be a better friend this year. Honesty and relationships are important to her. And then there is Britney Spears. She just wants to stop biting her nails and has already proclaimed that she probably won’t stick to it. Way to go Britney, you just set yourself up to fail.
Curious about what the Top 7 Teen New Year Resolutions are? Well here it goes.
- Get physically fit – Take better care of your body. Lose weight, be more active, eat more fruits and vegetables and drink more water instead of soda.
- Better education – Focus on your schoolwork. You have to be in class anyway, why not do your best and have the opportunity of entering into a better college or job.
- Take action – Take action when faced with a difficult situation. Don’t try to handle it alone. Talk to a parent or an adult that you can trust. Believe it or not, wisdom does come with age.
- Learn to deal with your stress and anger – When you feel anger rise up or stress starting to take over your body, take a break. Walk away if you can for a few minutes and take some deep breaths. Get control of your emotions before you react. Write your thoughts in a journal, exercise or grab someone you can talk to until you calm down.
- Be more selective with relationships – Look at your relationships, friends, acquaintances or people you are dating. Not all relationships are good. There are some people you should cut all ties with. People who you hang out with do influence you somewhat.
- Help someone else – Volunteer in groups in your community that help people who have special needs. Examples are senior homes or church groups. You may even find a club or group at school to join that emphasizes helping others.
- Change your self image – Let go of the self doubt and take the “I can’t do it” out of your vocabulary. Change your self image from dumb to loving the challenge of life.
There you have it, the Top 7 Teen New Year Resolutions. No matter what resolutions you have for 2009, start off with a hopeful and positive attitude and make this year better.

Happy New Year to all of my Total Teen Beauty followers!

Teen ideas
Quick think. What do teens give, what is the best gift everyone can afford to give at the last minute.
Christmas came so fast this year that many of you haven’t been shopping yet. It’s not too late. Being a teen you are probably wondering what you can do. What is the best gift to give now that it is Christmas Eve. The economy had a bad hit right before Christmas. Some of your parents lost their jobs. The job you thought you were going to have during holidays to make some extra Christmas money wasn’t available because everyone is cutting back. Or maybe it just snuck up on you and you still need ideas for a gift. What is the special gift everyone (including you) can afford to give.
You could go to Amazon.com, and search frantically in the top 10 picks.

With a few clicks a gift will be on it’s way. But it will be late and you will have to put a “It’s on the way” card under the Christmas tree. Option number two – you could go out in the hustle bustle of the late shoppers and try to find something in the stores that they haven’t sold out of yet and fight the person next to you for it. OR …
Teens listen up! There is a third option. The best gift everyone can afford to give at anytime is your love, your time, your self. This is the best gift ever because it is alive, it constantly changes and it keeps giving.
Here’s three suggestions to start your creative juices flowing.
-
Offer to do chores around the house, do the laundry or some yard work. Everyone is always looking for more time to be able to get other things done.
-
Prepare a meal or a snack and sit down with that person and talk about them. Let them tell you their likes, dislikes or their favorite experiences. If you listen closely, you may even pick up nuggets of wisdom from them.
-
Tell them how much you love them and how special they are to you. Tell them face to face or write a poem, make up a song or record it on a DVD.
Words and actions of love speak loud and clear. When all other gifts have been long gone your words of love will keep on speaking. You have something very special to give. Teens, give of yourselves. It’s a gift everyone can afford to give. It’s the best gift to give at anytime and anywhere that will last a lifetime.

Are Bratz gone forever? If you are a Bratz fan you may be in for a shock. This trendy doll who always makes a grand fashion statement may have a rocky future. Bratz products have been ordered by a judge to be taken off of the shelves after this Holiday season 2008.
So what does this mean for all of the Bratz fans. It means, that if you wanted anything that has to do with Bratz you better get your holiday wish list out early. With the threat of Bratz leaving us for good there will probably be a shopping frinzy across the nation starting now. I would imagine people are going to be buying all the Bratz products that they can find. Alert parents, grandparents, godparents, brothers, sisters, and friends to what is going on so that your Bratz wish list will become a reality.
But we are told not to cry yet. MGA (manufacturers of Bratz) has another hearing in February. If you want to more details on the Bratz vs. Mattel lawsuit just Google – Bratz news. So are Bratz gone forever? This will remain yet to be seen. Believe it or not Bratz are still popular with pre-teens and teens. So I just wanted to give all the Bratz fans heads up and warn them to be on the alert.
