Top 7 Teen New Year Resolutions

Posted by: admin  :  Category: total teen beauty

Teen New Year Resolutions are made with great hope and expectation.  A new year brings a fresh start and time to reflect on the past year.  What were the things you wanted to accomplish but didn’t.  Observe the things that worked and didn’t work this past year.  What did you lose your focus on and what new direction do you want to take this year.

Almost everyone makes New Year Resolutions.  Do you want to know what some of the celebrities said?  The Jonas Brothers had an awesome year in 2008 and they intend on keeping it going just as they have been.  Selena Gomez (from Disney’s Wizard of Waverly Place) wants to be a better friend this year.  Honesty and relationships are important to her.  And then there is Britney Spears.  She just wants to stop biting her nails and has already proclaimed that she probably won’t stick to it.  Way to go Britney, you just set yourself up to fail.

Curious about what the Top 7 Teen New Year Resolutions are?  Well here it goes.

  1. Get physically fit – Take better care of your body.  Lose weight, be more active, eat more fruits and vegetables and drink more water instead of soda.
  2. Better education – Focus on your schoolwork.  You have to be in class anyway, why not do your best and have the opportunity of entering into a better college or job.
  3. Take action – Take action when faced with a difficult situation.  Don’t try to handle it alone.  Talk to a parent or an adult that you can trust.  Believe it or not, wisdom does come with age.
  4. Learn to deal with your stress and anger – When you feel anger rise up or stress starting to take over your body, take a break.  Walk away if you can for a few minutes and take some deep breaths.  Get control of your emotions before you react.  Write your thoughts in a journal, exercise or grab someone you can talk to until you calm down.
  5. Be more selective with relationships – Look at your relationships, friends, acquaintances or people you are dating.  Not all relationships are good.  There are some people you should cut all ties with.  People who you hang out with do influence you somewhat.
  6. Help someone else – Volunteer in groups in your community that help people who have special needs.  Examples are senior homes or church groups.  You may even find a club or group at school to join that emphasizes helping others.
  7. Change your self image – Let go of the self doubt and take the “I can’t do it” out of your vocabulary.  Change your self image from dumb to loving the challenge of life.

There you have it, the Top 7 Teen New Year Resolutions.  No matter what resolutions you have for 2009, start off with a hopeful and positive attitude and make this year better.

Happy New Year to all of my Total Teen Beauty followers!
